Terms and Conditions of Acceptance
(Applicable only to Non-EU Students)
1. Enrolment
on a course at our College constitutes a binding agreement on the
student to follow the course and pay the tuition fees in full. All fees
must be settled four weeks prior to the commencement date of the course.
2. All
overseas students are required to attend lectures and tutorials for a
minimum of 15 hours of day-time study per week.
Please note that the Home Office requires that the College
monitors the exact number of hours that you attend and they check this
regularly.
3. In the
event of absence for medical or other reason, you should inform the
Admissions Secretary. Absence of more than 3 days for medical reasons
must be supported by a medical certificate
4.
Students
from overseas are required to comply with United Kingdom Home Office
Regulations and are expected to be in possession of a valid student
visa.
5.
Time-tables and Fees may be altered at the discretion of the College.
6.
The
College reserves the right not to run courses as advertised, as courses
will only be run if justified by demand. Fees already paid will be
refunded in the event of course cancellation.
7. It is your
responsibility as a student to register with the University of London
(Degree Students only) and also to ensure that the payment of their
Application Handling Fee, Initial Registration Fee, Continuing
Registration Fee and Examination Fees are made on time. Tuition fees
already paid to our College will not be refunded where a student has
failed to complete his registration or payment to University of London
within the specified time allowed by the University.
8.
Our
College must be notified immediately of any change of address or
telephone number and other personal details.
9.
Where a
student obtains a student visa with our letter and unilaterally decides
not take up the offer of a place, which has been reserved, without the
consent of MCL. Tuition fees already paid will not be refunded and the
student will be liable for the balance of fees for that academic year.
10.
For
students already in the United Kingdom with a student visa, it is
a condition of enrolment that tuition fees are paid in full
at the time of enrolment.
11.
For
applicants already in the United Kingdom, a deposit of £1,000.00
towards the tuition fees will be required at the time of enrolment.
12.
For
overseas applicants, a non-refundable deposit of £250.00 is
required at the time of enrolment and before the issuance of admission
letters. It is a condition of enrolment that you must pay your tuition
fees for the first year in full before you commencement your course with
our College:
Note:
a) The non-refundable initial deposit of £250.00
will count towards your tuition fees;
b) Payment of the first year’s tuition fees by installments is not
permitted under any circumstances;
c) Students enrolling through overseas local
representatives are advised to pay their tuition fees in full to MCL through the local
representative in their country
before collecting their admission letters.
Refund: d) If you have paid your tuition fees to MCL in full
and you are refused entry clearance to enter the United Kingdom as
a student, or decide not to proceed with your application for any reason whatsoever,
you will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid less the sum of the
non-refundable deposit of £250.00.
e) If
Admission Packs are sent to
you on more than one occasion upon your request, a further sum of
£100.00 will be deducted from the tuition paid by you in excess of the
non-refundable sum of £250.00.
f) If you have paid only the non-refundable
deposit of £250.00 and you require a fresh Admission Pack , an
additional payment of
£100.00 will be requested prior to sending a fresh
Admission Pack to you.
13. Where a
prospective student has been refused entry clearance to enter the United
Kingdom and wishes to appeal against the visa refusal, MCL will
be prepared to undertake the appeal (through its Solicitors) on
behalf of the student for a fee of £850.00 (For appeal on
Papers submitted) and £1,550.00 (for representation at
Full Hearing). The Solicitors fees quoted are exclusive of
disbursements.
14. Fees are
not refundable or transferable once a student has commenced his/her
course, whilst allowance cannot be made for non-attendance, sickness,
withdrawal or refusal of visa extension by the Home Office.
15. Students
who are late in starting their course will not be entitled to any refund
of/or reduction in tuition fees; this also applies where students have
been absent from classes for a period of time and where they may not
have been attending all the subjects for which they have been enrolled.
16.
If a
student is required by the Home Office to leave the UK because of none
or poor attendance, or because of any breach of law, tuition fees paid
will not be refundable.
17.
Important
notices are displayed on the College’s main notice board and it is the
student’s responsibility to ensure that such notices are read.
